Electoral Register
Changes of address should be reported to the Council so the Electoral Register can be updated. Please go to /council/elections/Registering_to_Vote_-.htm for more information and to download the relevant forms.
Change of address
Change your address for Council Tax, the Electoral Register, Educations, Council Tax/Housing Benefits, Libraries and others, with the Council using this electronic form.
N.B! If you change address for the Electoral Register, you will need to print and sign the form, in order to send it to the address specified within the form, or have the form sent to your current home address.
This useful website at https://www.iammoving.com/ and offers a free service which enables you to inform all you main services of your new address.
Remember to update your vehicle registration and driving licence! Go to http://www.dvla.gov.uk to update your details.
TV Licences also need to be transferred. Go to http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/ to update your details online.
Post Office - Mail Forwarding and Redirection
Royal Mail offer a mail forwarding service to ensure you don't miss any post at your new address. Go to http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump2?catId=400040&mediaId=600008 to register.
Housing Benefits
If you are in receipt of Housing Benefit, you must inform the Council of any change of circumstance. Go to /advice/benefits/housingbenefit for more information.

Home Improvement Grants
The Council can help with various grants to improve your home, including assistance with energy efficient heating, plumbing and insulation. Go to /housing/homeimprovementgrants or /environment/energy.
Homelessness
The Council can help you if you find yourself homeless - go to for more advice.
General Advice
The Council produces a selection of useful leaflets for both private and council tenants and homeowners, which can be downloaded from /housing/HousingAdvisoryLeafletsIndex.htm.
