Local artists work on show at the Fishing Heritage Centre.
The annual Insight open studios event will return to the Fishing Heritage Centre this September, as artists from two local galleries display their work and members of the public are invited to visit their studios.
The exhibition will run in two parts, with work from Gate Gallery and Abbey Walk Gallery on show in the Muriel Baker Gallery, between September 11 to 26, and a further exhibition in the Monkey Pig and Pie Gallery, between September 11 and October 31, named ‘Two Galleries, Two Artists.’
As part of the wider Insight open art event, 58 artists from across North and North East Lincolnshire will also be opening their studios to the public on the weekends of September 18 -19 and September 25-26.
All studios will be open from 10.30am to 5pm on each day unless otherwise stated.
Councillor Leanor Pidgen, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and tourism, said: “The Insight open studios and art event is a great opportunity for members of the public to find out more about how art is created.
“This is a rare opportunity to see a piece of artwork on show in an exhibition then be offered the chance to visit its creator’s personal studio to find out more about how they work, why they created it, and what else they are working on.”
She added: “I would urge people to visit to find out more about the talented local artists we have in this area.”
More details about each of the artists involved in the exhibition can be found in the exhibition brochure.
