Tickets are still available for a 40s and 50s swing night being held by North East Lincolnshire Care Trust Plus older people’s health and wellbeing collaborative in aid of The Royal British Legion (TRBL).
The event will get into full swing with the help from The L.S. 16 Piece Big Band who will be performing throughout the evening. People can even get into the spirit by coming along in 40s or 50s style clothes.
The dance will be held on Saturday, September 4, at Westwood Ho barracks, Grimsby. Tickets for the evening cost £10, this includes a buffet super.
All the money raised from the event will be donated to TRBL. TRBL safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces.
The event will help mark the 90th birthday of TRBL as well as Older People’s Day on Friday, October 1, which celebrates the contribution older people make to communities.
Martin Wakefield, project manger for the older people’s collaborative, said: “The night looks to be a fantastic celebration of dance from the 40s and 50s era with the big band playing on the evening.
“This evening will be a great way to have a good time while raising money for a worthwhile cause.”
Tickets are available at all local British Legions (Laceby, Waltham and Cartergate) and from Second Avenue Resource Centre.
