Event takes place at Blundell Park on Saturday, February 18
THE crew of HMS Grimsby are to pitch their soccer skills against Grimsby Police at Blundell Park for a charity match during the ship's forthcoming visit to North East Lincolnshire.
The match will kick off at 4.30pm on Saturday, February 18, adding an entertaining feature to a programme of events centred around HMS Grimsby's Freedom Parade.
The parade itself takes place on Sunday, February 19. It will depart from the Riverhead in Grimsby at 10am, heading to Grimsby Town Hall before making its way to Grimsby Minster for a special civic service. Afterwards, at noon, the parade will return to the town hall for a reception for invited guests.
Tickets for the soccer match are £1 each (or more if spectators would like to make a donation). They can be purchased from the Ops Planning Office, Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm, on (01472) 264781. Funds raised will go to nominated charities.
