Meridian Park toolkit for event organisers
This month sees the release of the Meridian Park Toolkit; an easy to use guide for event organisers which provides them with all the information they need to hire the popular venue.
The toolkit covers the cost of hiring Meridian Park, the terms and conditions of use, health and safety information and includes a booking form.
A decision has been made to keep the venue's hire prices the same in 2012 as 2011. This is a way for the council to give additional support to event organisers and will encourage exciting new performances to visit the area.
Last year the venue played host to extremely popular events like: It's a Knockout, Grimsby Pride 2011 and the Play Day 2011, which had over 6,000 visitors throughout the day. The council is keen to maintain this high standard and is looking to local organisers to help make Cleethorpes a premium tourist destination of 2012.
The toolkit can be downloaded from the North East Lincolnshire Council website at: http://www.nelincs.gov.uk/resident/arts--events-and-tourism/meridian-park/
David Power, principal arts officer, commented: "Meridian Park had a good year in 2011, with over 22,000 visitors attending its varied programme of events. However, we hope to do much better in 2012 and I am please that the 2012 toolkit is now available to give potential hirers all the information they need."
Councillor Mick Burnett, the deputy leader and portfolio holder for health, well-being, culture and tourism, commented: "Meridian Park is an asset to the area and I'm always pleased to see the variety of performances that take place there. With its 5,000 capacity and prime position in Cleethorpes, the council would like to encourage anyone thinking of organising an event in our area to consider the Park as their venue of choice."
