Standards Committee notice

Four-month suspension handed to Healing Parish Councillor

NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

STANDARDS COMMITTEE

LOCAL AUTHORITIES (CODE OF CONDUCT) (LOCAL DETERMINATION) REGULATIONS 2003, as amended

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 6th February 2012 the Standards Committee, Hearing Panel, for the Council met to consider whether Councillor M. Dickerson had acted in breach of the Code of Conduct for Members of Healing Parish Council.

The Standards Committee determined that there had been a breach of the Code of Conduct in that the said Councillor failed to declare a personal and prejudicial interest and also brought her office or the Authority (the Parish Council) into disrepute. The details are that at a meeting of the Parish Council on the 10th May 2011 there was an agenda item regarding proposed development on land which affected the well-being or financial position of people with whom Councillor Dickerson has a close association.

The Standards Committee decided that the said Councillor should receive a sanction, namely a suspension for 4 months from the 13th February 2012.

The full written decision is available for Public Inspection at the Municipal Offices, Town Hall Square, Grimsby during normal office hours.
