Changes to social housing allocation - feedback needed

Home Choice Lincs

The Home Choice Lincs scheme is asking for your views.

RESIDENTS’ views are needed ahead of changes to how social houses are let in Northern Lincolnshire through the Home Choice Lincs scheme.

Changes are being proposed in response to the government’s welfare reforms and the Localism Act along with the need to meet new Government guidelines.

Some of the changes include how properties are allocated due to an increased number of applicants on the housing register plus enabling members of the armed forces and their families to apply in order to recognise their contribution to the country.

Home Choice Lincs was launched in 2010 when North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council joined forces with North Lincolnshire Homes, Shoreline Housing Partnership and L&H Homes to jointly advertise affordable homes for rent.

To ensure your views are considered complete the online questionnaire at www.homechoicelincs.org.uk

The survey can be found by clicking on “survey” on the left hand menu on the homepage.

The deadline for survey feedback is Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

All views will be considered and, where required, amendments will be made before the policy changes are adopted in December 2012.
