Find out what's on this summer with our holiday activity booklets
Information to be sent to every child in the borough
HOLIDAY activity booklets are being distributed to every child in North East Lincolnshire in time for the summer break.
The booklets have proven a great success in the past, offering a comprehensive guide to this summer's events, activities and entertainment for the benefit of children and parents.
They are being distributed by class teachers to every child and young person in North East Lincolnshire's schools, and direct to the homes of every child registered to a children’s centre.
Teams involved in the development of the booklets include Extended Schools North East Lincolnshire, Sports Development, the Young People’s Service, Libraries, police, voluntary sector and the Family Information Service. It is hoped that organisations from the private and voluntary sector will, in the future, contribute information to the service.
Margaret Cracknell, Portfolio Holder for Children’s Services, said: “It has taken months of work and the co-operation of dedicated professionals from across children’s services to compile these activity booklets. The results are, quite frankly, extraordinary.
"Children and families from all backgrounds deserve the right to a readily accessibly source of information about all the wonderful events and activities we offer.
"As the success of our previous booklets has shown, we are now in a position to offer that information in a single and complete format. I commend the efforts of everyone involved in the creation and distribution of such a fantastic idea and please, remember to contact us if you have events you would like to see included in future copies of the booklet.”
