History talk will give insight to photographs, paintings and other artefacts
Event takes place on June 25
The West Marsh Local History Group is inviting members and the general public to a talk which will shed light on the town's collection of photographs, paintings and other artefacts.
The talk by North East Lincolnshire Council’s collections and access officer Mark Tindle will focus on his ongoing work developing easier access to the collection.
He is heading a team that will supervise the collection being moved from Welholme Galleries to a new store on the edge of town. The team is working on more detailed indexing and better storage conditions that will mean the people of Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire will be able to view their heritage in a much better way than ever before.
Mr Tindle will also discuss research techniques, tips and ideas and pass on his own experiences to assist people who are interested in researching history projects.
The talk takes place at St. Hugh’s Community Centre in Haycroft Street, Grimsby, on Wednesday, June 25, starting at 7.30pm. For further information call Sandra Mason at St. Hugh’s on 01472 231507 or email sthughs@hotmail.co.uk.
