Cleethorpes tourism guide is a glossy attraction
Brochure wins accolades from other councils
The boom in Cleethorpes tourism this summer has been given an extra gloss – with its visitor attraction guide gaining plaudits from other tourism professionals.
The Wake Up to Award Winning Cleethorpes, Grimsby and The North East Lincolnshire Wolds 2008 guide has received accolades from other councils.
North East Lincolnshire Council’s brochure scored 84% in an assessment to examine its design, imagery, content and quality.
Chris Jones, head of tourism and leisure, said: “It was good to be involved in the assessment process to see how we compare to other local authorities in promoting our tourism product.
“The fact that we have been assessed so highly in North East Lincolnshire is testament to both the design team involved in producing the brochure and also reflects the improving quality of the region as a tourism destination.”
Steve Hocknell, portfolio holder for culture, leisure and healthier communities, said: “This is the high standard that we strive for and with the feedback received from this assessment we aspire to make enhance 2009’s visitor attractions brochure.”
The demand for this reputed attractions guide is very high and the council anticipates that a re-print will be required to meet demand.
