Advice and information on reporting fraud

Although the vast majority of people who claim benefits are honest, those who do commit benefit theft are picking the pockets of law-abiding taxpayers.  Deliberately withholding information that affects benefit entitlement is stealing.

North East  Lincolnshire Council is determined to take all possible steps to prevent and eliminate fraud.  This cannot be done without your help.

If you suspect someone is committing benefit fraud you can contact us by the following methods:

  • By telephone on our confidential fraud hotline 01472 323334.  The hotline is staffed 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and a recorded message can be left outside these hours.
  • Online using this link - Report it!
  • Or by writing to North East Lincolnshire Council, Counter Fraud Section, Civic Offices, Knoll Street, Cleethorpes, DN35 8LN.
