Freeman Street Resource and Community Centre was built in 2000 to provide facilities for adult and youth training, community, social, sporting and cultural activities of benefit to individuals and community groups
Rooms for hire
- The Conference Hall seats up to 100 people for meetings, training or seminars. It is also used for leisure and sporting activities such as line dancing, yoga and children's parties. The Hall may also be divided into two smaller rooms by an acoustic partition.
- The Community Room seats up to 25 people and is also used for a variety of meetings and training events.
- There is also a small meeting room available for hire which seats up to 8 people.
All of these rooms are available for hire at competitive hourly rates. Please contact our Reception desk on (01472) 325915 or complete the booking form available under the document downloads sections.
Rented accommodation
Office space is also available within the Centre for rental by licence agreement.
Cybercafe
The Centre also has a cybercafe offering free Internet access from 6 computers. It is open weekdays 9am - 4.30pm (4pm Friday). There is usually someone on hand to offer help and assistance to those who need it.
Sports Facilities
The multi use sports facilities, completed in 2003, have two all weather pitches for football, cricket, hockey, netball, basketball and tennis, a tarmac multi-use free access games area and skatepark plus changing and shower facilities. It offers opportunities for all age groups within the community to participate in a wide range of sports and sports development programmes.

Community Learning Services - Live, learn and work with Community Learning Services
The Community Learning Service offers a wide range of courses during daytime and evenings from the Centre. These include basic skills, Information Technology, English as a Foreign Language.
