Supply and Demand of Childcare in North East Lincolnshire.
The duties in the 2006 Childcare Act (under Section 11) require Local Authorities to shape and support the development of childcare provision in their local area in order to make it flexible, sustainable and responsive to the needs of the community. Local Authorities have a duty to secure sufficient childcare (Section 6 of the Act) for parents in their area and are required to undertake a detailed assessment of the supply of, and demand for, childcare in their area every three years as a minimum.
The 2011 Childcare Sufficiency Assessment is the latest available document and provides a detailed summary of the extensive consultations available. The 2012/13 Refresh provides an annual update for the supply and demand of childcare (including a gap analysis) within North East Lincolnshire, including availability of places, childcare costs, occupancy, vacancies and waiting lists.
