The Home Options Team gives free, confidential and impartial housing advice and assistance to residents who have housing needs.

Our main aim is to reduce and prevent homelessness in North East Lincolnshire whilst making sure that your home is suitable and that you are able to manage the tenancy.

We have a number of options available to help you;

  • Home Options Bond Scheme

The Home Options Bond Scheme (HOBS) is intended to enable people living in or have a local connection; i.e. working within North East Lincolnshire, who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or who cannot afford the bond needed to secure private rented accommodation. The scheme aims to assist people to move into private rented sector properties with affordable rents, based on their income and expenditure.

  • Signposting to other agencies

By asking for help from the Council you can open the door to other services covering all kinds of assistance, for example drug rehabilitation, debt advice, benefits claims, housing problems. We can refer you to the agency that has the most expertise in the area you need help in

  • Legal Advice

We offer free legal advice about all aspects of housing issues that may result in homelessness such as illegal eviction or harassment. We also have access to other agencies that can offer more specific advice on other matters free of charge.
