Application for admission to the Pastures Roll of the Enrolled Freemen of Grimsby
Traditionally, in order to become an Enrolled Freemen you had to be the son of an Enrolled Freemen (at the time of birth), or have married the daughter or widow of an Enrolled Freemen. Now both sons and daughters may apply to become an Enrolled Freemen.
This same law means it no longer matters whether your parent was an Enrolled Freemen when you were born, although your parent must have been admitted as an Enrolled Freemen. It also no longer matters where you were born. A 7 year indenture (apprenticeship) to an Enrolled Freemen may also qualify for enrolment.
In all cases the applicant must reside within the former Borough of Grimsby.
To apply to become an Enrolled Freemen please complete the on-line form in the Related Forms section or complete and return the application form in the downloads section below. Guidance notes to aid in completion of the form are also included in this section.
