North East Lincolnshire Council supports voluntary and community organisations through a range of grant aid budgets.
In 2013/14, the Council has made £40,000 available for community groups in North East Lincolnshire to deliver projects that build pride within our communities and for projects that support community led regeneration.
In particular, it will contribute to delivering the Council’s aspiration of supporting a stronger economy and developing stronger communities.
Funding Available
Scheme 1 – Grants (up to £3000) for projects that build pride within our community
The funding will support new or existing community groups that are looking to get more people involved in improving the community in their neighbourhood. We are not setting guidelines as to what will be funded but groups will need to demonstrate that they will work with the wider community and that the benefits of the project will not be purely for the members of the group. Ward Councillors will be asked to comment on the schemes so a conversation with one of more of your ward councillors before you submit your application may be advisable. You can find details of your ward councillor here http://www.nelincs.gov.uk/council/councillors-democracy-elections/councillors-information-and-advice/ward-search/
Scheme 2 – Grants (up to £5000) for projects that demonstrate active community regeneration
The money is available for area-based projects that improve neighbourhoods. It is for activities which add value to or complement current projects, initiatives or services. The money can not be used to support existing service delivery. We are particularly interested in projects that will promote sustainability and bring together communities.
Type of projects we could fund include:
Small scale improvements to community facilities which support jobs, volunteering or provide community support services
- Projects that encourage more people to volunteer within the community
- Projects that support people within the community to access employment opportunities
- Projects that support young people to access employment opportunities
- Projects from community groups looking to start up social enterprises (support for business planning may be available)
- Projects that provide IT skills to the community
Deadline for expressions of interest is the 30th June, please e-mail your form to Jamie.dunn@nelincs.gov.uk
