North East Lincolnshire Local Authority is the admission authority for North East Lincolnshire’s community and voluntary controlled primary schools. The admission authorities for primary and secondary voluntary aided, trust schools and academies are the governors of the individual schools / academies.
Between the 1st November 2011 and 1st March 2012 all admission authorities in North East Lincolnshire have to consult for a period of 8 weeks on any changes to their proposed admission arrangements for the academic year 2013-2014.
After the close of the consultation period on 1st March 2012, all of the admission authorities must take account of any responses received and determine their final admission arrangements by 15th April 2012.
North East Lincolnshire Local Authority is not proposing to make any changes to the admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools except for the new statutory requirement of the School Admissions Code, in respect of ‘previously looked after children’. All admission authorities are required to include this additional element in their over subscription criteria.

In line with the new Code a number of academies in North East Lincolnshire are proposing to make some additional changes to their current admission arrangements i.e. giving priority to previous siblings and or academy staff. For those academies that have asked us to consult on their behalf their proposed documentation is also on our website. Any comments regarding these proposed changes should be made directly to the respective academy.
The School Admissions Code states that the final policy must be determined by 15th April 2012 and published within 14 days.
