Hot nutritious school meals are offered to all school children within North East Lincolnshire. The menu cycle at every school is designed so that it meets government food and nutrition standards.
The vast majority of Secondary Schools in the borough are responsible for establishing their own provision, either in house or with an external provider so please check with your child’s individual school if you have any specific queries about their provision.
All primary schools in the borough have meals provided by Cygnet Catering. The council is committed to working closely with Cygnet to ensure primary age children receive a hot nutritious meal every day which is exciting, tasty and satisfying.
There is a wealth of information from the School Food Trust (see links) on the potential benefits of eating a balanced nutritional diet including benefits for children’s physical and emotional development as well as improving educational attainment.
North East Lincolnshire Council is committed to continuing to ensure children have the opportunity to access an affordable, nutritious and delicious school meal so that they can have the best opportunities for their development and future.
