SENSS:
SENSS is a team of specialist teaching staff. We make a difference to the life chances of children and young people with special educational needs by working in close partnership with their schools, parents and other professionals.
Our aim:
SENSS aims to raise the level of expectation and the quality of teaching and learning for pupils with cognitive and specific learning difficulties.
The SEN Support Service core functions are:
- To add value to the progress of pupils with cognitive and specific learning difficulties (Sp.L.D.)
- To increase the skills and confidence of mainstream staff in meeting the needs of pupils with cognitive and specific learning difficulties (Sp.L.D.)
- To support and enhance whole school practices to raise achievement through improving their ability to monitor, measure and record the progress of pupils with cognitive and specific learning difficulties (Sp.L.D.)
- To support the Local Authority and schools in maximising the effective use of SEN resources.
