North East Lincolnshire’s Sports Development unit is managed by Lincs Inspire and works in partnership with local and national organisations in order to improve the quality and quantity of sporting opportunities across North East Lincolnshire. These pages will give you information on the range of sporting activities we support and show you how you can get involved.

The Sports Development team consists of a number of sports development officers who work in the following areas:

  • Community Sports Coaching Scheme
  • Volunteering in Sport
  • Sports Coaching
  • Sports Clubs
  • Positive Futures/Sport Lincs
  • Equality in Sport

The Sports Development unit aims to:

  • Ensure that people within North East Lincolnshire have the opportunity to participate in high quality Sport and Physical Activity through upskilling sports coaches, teachers and volunteers who deliver/coach/instruct sports and physical activity
  • Increase participation in Sport by 1 per cent year on year
  • Increase the number and quality of volunteers involved in sport and active recreation in North East Lincolnshire
  • Work with voluntary sports clubs and community groups to improve their structures and practices to provide high quality services
  • Develop opportunities to increase participation levels in sport and active recreation
  • Ensure that sport is equitable by developing opportunities to ensure that priority groups can access sport and active recreation
  • Support groups in accessing external funding to deliver sporting projects and activities
  • Engage "at risk" and "hard to reach" young people in Sport as a means of preventing Anti Social Behaviour and increasing social well being
