Having an occasional break is important for everyone - and even more so for carers. Caring for someone can be very demanding and can leave you feeling tired and rundown. Getting away for a short while can make all the difference.
Here lists a variety of holiday organisations with a brief description of what they offer, so have a look and then for more details contact the ones you are most interested in. Most of the organisations listed welcome the person with the illness or disability and their carer. However you may prefer to get away on your own so we have included two organisations which provide breaks just for you, the carer. Whatever your situation, there should be something here for you!
Taking a break is vital - it allows you the chance to recharge your batteries and let someone else share the caring. As a carer your greatest resource is… YOURSELF, so it's important you take care of yourself.
We plan to update this information each year and would welcome any comments on how to improve it. Also, if you know of other holiday organisations, please let us know. Simply use our FREEPOST address shown below to write to us. Thank you.
While care has been taken to ensure this information is accurate, North East Lincolnshire Council Community Care Directorate cannot accept liability for any errors or omissions, nor be held responsible for the services provided on any of the holidays listed.
