Adoption Service
Welcome to the web pages of the North East Lincolnshire Adoption Service.
Adoption is a way of providing a permanent new family and home for children who are unable to live with their family of birth. An adopted child becomes a full member of the adoptive family with the same legal rights as any child born into that family. Once a court makes an adoption order in favour of the adoptive parents, only the adoptive parents have parental responsibility (legal rights) for the child.
The lives of many people have been touched by adoption in some way.
You may be browsing these pages as:
- Someone interested in adopting a child or children;
- Someone whose child is being adopted;
- An adult who was adopted as a child;
- A child or young person who may be going through the adoption process;
- Someone involved in adoption who feels they need some further support.
Whatever brings you to these pages, we hope you will find the information easily accessible and helpful. You will find information on all aspects of adoption in North East Lincolnshire here.
