In Summary
The Children and Young People's Plan will meet the needs of young people post 19 years old by:
- ensuring young people receive necessary training and development in order to obtain essential skills for life to contribute to the local areas workforce and economy;
- increasing the number of parents, carers and families that report a smooth transition for their young people into adulthood particularly vulnerable young people;
- engaging parents, carers and families both in community life and in service planning and delivery;
- working more closely with our colleagues, particularly in leisure services, to increase opportunities for play and enjoyment;
- promoting continued access across a broad range of services including libraries, museums, arts development, sports development and leisure;
- working more closely with the voluntary and community sector.
We will also continue to be vigilant in relation to standards of safeguarding and be ready to exploit opportunities for service enhancement.
