Young people primarily live within the urban centres. However, there are significant issues, particularly lack of access to youth and cultural facilities for those young people living in the rural communities.
The Index of Multiple Deprivation 2007 combines a number of indicators, which cover a range of economic, social and housing issues, into a single deprivation score for each Lower Layer Super Output Area (LSOA) in England. LSOAs are small areas which contain a minimum of 1000 people and an average of 1500 people.
North East Lincolnshire has 107 LSOAs in total. In 2007, we were ranked 49th out of 354 local authorities in England with an overall score of 29.73. This compares to a ranking of 52, with a score of 29.36 in 2004. We have 52 (49%) LSOA's ranked within the 30% most deprived in the country with 26 in the top 10%.
