The 2007 - 2010 Children and Young People's Plan sets out long term top priorities for children and young people. Detailed below are some of the steps we have taken in working towards meeting these priorities.

Keeping all children and young people safe from
- Being bullied or being racially abused
- Domestic abuse in the home
We are:

creating a co-located domestic abuse team which will provide a central point for all reports in respect of domestic abuse

developing anti-bullying guidance relating to schools and parents with reference to homophobic bullying

linking guidance on e-safety and cyber bullying and including this in the updated Local Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB) guidelines and procedures

developing four Junior Warden Schemes with two further schemes planned
We have:

piloted a domestic abuse education pack in two Primary Schools

produced an information leaflet for parents during national anti-bullying week

delivered e-safety awareness to children as part of Healthy Schools programme

exceeded the target of 90% by 2008 of children with disabilities with a transition plan
