The mid-year population estimate released in August 2007 suggests that the population of North East Lincolnshire stood at 158,900 in June 2006. Mid-year population estimates calculate the population living in an area on 30 June each year. They work from the previous year's figures using the registration of births and deaths and GP patient records to calculate an estimate of the usual resident population.
The overall population of North East Lincolnshire is projected to increase to 165,500 in 2029 (4.09%). The overall population of Yorkshire and Humber is projected to increase by 13.16% and the population of England is projected to increase by 12.66%
