Accessibility Planning and North East Lincolnshire Council
In April 2006 North East Lincolnshire Council's Transport Policy team published the Second Local Transport Plan that contained the Accessibility Strategy. The Accessibility Strategy was produced with local stakeholders such as The Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, Franklin College, North East Lincolnshire's Prinary Care Trust, The Diana Princess of Wales Hospital -Grimsby, Job Centre Plus and a variety of other local stakeholders. Local stakeholders agreed to attend six monthly accessibility Planning Partnership meetings which have been held since February 2006. The first accessibility Planning Partnersip meeting between the local stakeholders formed the basis of the Accessibility Priorities and the main priority chosen was to monitor and maintain the % of households without a car that can access Diana Princess of Wales Hospital - Grimsby within 30 minutes on public transport. The Accessibility Planning Partnership are also adding to the Accessibility Strategy by completing a Local Accessibility Audit, Optional Appraisal and adding to the Action Plan already contained within the Accessibility Strategy and should be completed by the end of December 2008.
