The main link to the national motorway network is the A180 dual carriageway which becomes the M180, leading directly to the M1, the main North-South motorway, and the M62, the main Transpennine (East-West) Road.

With only 29,000 vehicle movements per day, the A180 is typical of the lack of congestion in the area, giving efficient transportation times & costs.
