Bus Services in North East Lincolnshire

A bus operator can run services where and when it wishes provided that the details are first registered with the Traffic Commissioner.

A period of 56 days notice must be given before a new service starts, or is changed or withdrawn. Most bus services in North East Lincolnshire run commercially and North East Lincolnshire Council's opportunity to intervene in the market is constrained by legislation but some services are run with subsidy to fill gaps in the commercial network where it is justified.

North East Lincolnshire Council, in partnership with local operators has introduced a number of public transport initiatives to the area including the Lo-Zone 13/14 bus service with its 10 minute frequency and 30 minutes in the evenings and on Sunday's, and the demand responsive Phone 'n' Ride service.
