Bus Shelters and Stops
Bus Shelters
Requests for new shelters:
North East Lincolnshire Council offers advice concerning the positioning and maintenance of bus shelters. Members of the public wishing to suggest sites for the construction of new shelters are advised to contact Public Transport, Transport Policy, Origin One, 1 Origin Way, Europarc, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN37 9TZ.. The Council will normally take responsibility for shelter maintenance. There is however a specialist advertising firm who provide and maintain shelters in return for the right to display advertising material on them.
Reporting a damaged bus shelter
Shelters may be owned and maintained by a number of different bodies. The Council does normally own shelters but if you do not know who owns the shelter which is damaged, the Highway Authority Streetcare can normally advise you whom you should contact. Ring (01472) 324500 or email or write to Public Transport, Transport Policy, Origin One, 1 Origin Way, Europarc, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN37 9TZ.
Bus Stops
North East Lincolnshire Council works with bus companies in designating and marking bus stops in positions which take into account considerations of road safety, bus operations and the convenience of passengers. However, the Council does not have complete control over where bus companies choose to stop to pick up and set down passengers. Some bus services run on a "hail and ride" basis and some bus stops, particularly in rural areas, are not necessarily marked or signed. If you have a query about the siting or condition of a bus stopping place, contact Public Transport, Transport Policy, Origin One, 1 Origin Way, Europarc, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire, DN37 9TZ.
