Sports Ground Safety
The Safety of Sports Grounds Act 1975 provides for local authorities to issue safety certificates for designated sports grounds.
Safety certificates contain such terms and conditions as the local authority considers necessary or expedient to secure reasonable safety at the sports ground.
North East Lincolnshire Council is the certifying authority for sports grounds located within the Authoritys boundaries and which fall within the requirments of the 1975 Act.
The sports grounds, within North East Lincolnshire Council boundary, regulated under the terms of this Act are;
- Grimsby Town Football Club, Blundell Park Cleethorpes
- King George V Stadium, Weelsby Road, Grimsby
North East Lincolnshire Council is responsible for determining the terms and conditions in safety certificates, issuing the certificate and enforcing the 1975 Act.
The Council consult with the police, fire authority, ambulance service, sports ground managment and supporters representatives.
