Street Name Plates

The Council, as the Highway Authority,  is responsible for maintenance of  approximately 2500 streets  within North East Lincolnshire.  The Council is responsible for ensuring that each street is clearly named and street name plates are provided and fitted in suitable positions.  It is important, as we travel further from our local area, that we can find where we are and where we want to go quickly and efficiently.

The Council is responsible for the repair and maintenance of street name plates when this becomes necessary either due to accidental damage, vandalism or normal wear and tear.   Currently, the Council endeavours to maintain at least one street nameplate in every street.

In the case of a new development, the developer is responsible for the erection of name plates to the Council's specification.

To report a defect on a footpath please use our online form,  alternatively use the contact details to the right.
