We're changing Local Transport ...

... and we need your help to make it work

In the twelve months since April 2007, North East Lincolnshire Council has acheived:

Safety Schemes

• Every primary school has been issued with a hi-vis vest for each pupil.
• 85% of local schools now have a School Travel Plan - improving safety and helping to reduce peak hour traffic congestion.

Public Transport

• Over 21,000 journeys made with Phone n Ride.
• Free local bus travel for the over 60s.
• Launch of new bus and rail guides.
• Four additional scooters for the Wheels to Work project.
• Improvements to Grimsby Town and Cleethorpes rail stations.

Walking

• Pedestrianisation of Victoria Street West
• Investment in Town Centre walking routes
• New "Local Walks" guide

Cycling

• New cycle storage at local primary schools
• New cycle routes linking Europarc and Grimsby town centre and along Pelham Road, Immingham.
• Successful Dr Bike cycle maintenance events

Highways Maintenance

• Investment in road repairs has more than doubled, schemes include Peakes Parkway, Bargate and Weelsby Road.
