We're changing Local Transport ...
... and we need your help to make it work
In the twelve months since April 2007, North East Lincolnshire Council has acheived:
Safety Schemes
- Every primary school has been issued with a hi-vis vest for each pupil.
- 85% of local schools now have a School Travel Plan - improving safety and helping to reduce peak hour traffic congestion.
Public Transport
- Over 21,000 journeys made with Phone n Ride.
- Free local bus travel for the over 60s.
- Launch of new bus and rail guides.
- Four additional scooters for the Wheels to Work project.
- Improvements to Grimsby Town and Cleethorpes rail stations.
Walking
- Pedestrianisation of Victoria Street West
- Investment in Town Centre walking routes
- New "Local Walks" guide
Cycling
- New cycle storage at local primary schools
- New cycle routes linking Europarc and Grimsby town centre and along Pelham Road, Immingham.
- Successful Dr Bike cycle maintenance events
Highways Maintenance
- Investment in road repairs has more than doubled, schemes include Peakes Parkway, Bargate and Weelsby Road.
