Transportation Study 2004
North East Lincolnshire Council is preparing its second Local Transport Plan (LTP2), and has commissioned consultants Transport Planning International Ltd. (TPi), to undertake a transportation study for the area. LTP2 will be a 5-year strategy for improvements to the local transport system and forms a bid to Government for funding these improvements.
Do you drive a car,ride a bike, travel by train, run a business, use a wheelchair, ride on busses, push a pram or walk? If you do any of these, you need to know about LPT2 and how you can help us to make it work for you. LTP2 will be a new local transport plan for North East Lincolnshire. It is about a long term strategy for how the local transportation system will look in 2022, and a more detailed plan of how we'll be moving forward over the next 5 years.
The North East Lincolnshire Community Strategy vision is
"By improving the physical appearance of the area and the quality of life for its residents, make North East Lincolnshirea place in which we are proud to live, work, and welcome visitors."
As part of this vision we'll be looking at what can be done to make the transport system work better for local people, businesses, and visitors. LTP2 does not see transport as an end in itself, but something which can contribute to an improved quality of life for everyone.
The plan will cover Immingham, Grimsby, Cleethorpes and some of the Woldsvillages. It will be starting in 2006 and will include a programme of improvements to transport services and facilities in the area (including roads, footways, bus and train services, cycling and walking). We have delivered a questionnaire to every household in North East Lincs and we want you to use this to tell us what you think the plan should contain and how we can make it work for you, and the whole of the community.
