Following the recent structural defects in Abbey Walk Car Park, further inspection works to the concrete beams will take place tomorrow (Tuesday 28 April).
The data gathered will be used to develop a potential programme of improvement works and costings to improve the structure.
Works will take place on Tuesday 28 April and take one day to complete.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: “Abbey Walk Car Park is an aging structure and it is vital that following the recent defects, we look at all the potential repairs needed and the associated costs.
“These survey works will provide the data needed to allow engineers to review the options and develop a potential repair strategy.”
Abbey Walk Car Park has been deemed safe by engineers on a recent visit and reopened. The car park will remain open while the survey works are carried out using localised traffic management (cones and barriers).
North East Lincolnshire Council’s regeneration partner, ENGIE, will manage and oversee the works with structural specialists, Mason Clark Associates, completing the survey works.
