Businesses in Greater Lincolnshire are being invited to a breakfast meeting to find out how they can apply for money from a multi-million pound grant pot for greener energy use.
The events mark the launch of Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire which will offer small and medium businesses dedicated support to improve their energy efficiency and switch to renewable sources.
The £9.2m project is being run across Greater Lincolnshire by North East Lincolnshire Council over the next three years.
The council was awarded £5.4m funding from the European Regional Development Fund to deliver the project, alongside private sector investment.
Helen Norris, Programme Manager, from Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, said: “These events are an excellent opportunity for businesses to see how we can help them get smarter with their energy use for the benefit of the environment and their bottom line.
“This could include the installation of a new boiler or ultra-low energy lighting with the help of a grant from the Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire fund.
“Knowledge is power, and the programme offers business leaders a 12 hour energy education and training programme, plus up to £500 worth of energy saving products on completion.
“Businesses with higher energy usage can also receive energy efficiency reviews with the aim of providing dedicated energy advice and specialised help, to develop energy saving plans from university partners.”
Companies from all sectors are invited to attend the launch event provided they are a small to medium enterprise in Greater Lincolnshire.
Charli Parkin, Communications and Marketing Manager, from Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire, said: “Smart Energy Greater Lincolnshire is the first project of its kind in the country and it has the potential to save thousands of tonnes of carbon emissions.
“It also reflects the wider priority across the area for developing renewables as a key sector for the economy.
“We want to bring the success that has been seen with offshore windfarms onshore and into a wide range of businesses who can also benefit from green energy.”
The events will be at 7.30am-9.30am, including a complimentary breakfast on:
Tuesday, 24th July at The Oaklands Hotel, Grimsby
Wednesday, 25th July at Forest Pines, Brigg
Thursday, 26th July at The Lincoln Hotel, Lincoln
