SEN | Preparing for adulthood
Preparing for adulthood is a process that all young people go through when they move on from being a teenager and become an adult. It is an exciting time, but it is recognised that this can be a difficult time for some young people, especially those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The process can sometimes take longer and need more careful preparation than for other young people of a similar age. In this section you can find out more about the support available in North East Lincolnshire.
The Department for Education has published a guide to EHC plan eligibility for 19-25 year olds. The guidance is available on the Gov.uk website. Alongside the guidance is a tool giving practical suggestions for helping children and young people prepare for adulthood, broken down by outcome and age.
