North East Lincolnshire Council

Come along to Small Business Saturday’s tour bus for free marketing advice

Businesses are invited to meet with the organisers of Small Business Saturday when the tour bus comes to town.

The bus visits Grimsby town centre’s Riverhead on Thursday 7 November between 10am and 2pm.

The tour bus will offer free marketing packs for businesses to collect along with mentoring, speed networking and the chance to appear on the iconic Blue Sofa to share business insights and more.

Small Business Saturday is once again highlighting 100 small businesses, one a day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday.

Local business, Riverhead Coffee, has been chosen as a #SmallBiz100 company this year and will be showcased across Small Business Saturday’s social media channels on the day of the tour bus visit. Riverhead Coffee have a number of events and activities planned for the day.

North East Lincolnshire Council is once again supporting the campaign by pledging to waive parking charges in many of its car parks on the day of the campaign which takes place on Saturday 7 December. (*except Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, the Boating Lake and Thrunscoe Land).

The council is waiving charges for this day only and no ticket is required to be displayed.

The day was introduced to support local retailers and encourage spending with small, independent businesses that have less than 50 employees.

More than 97 per cent of businesses in North East Lincolnshire are classed as small enterprises.

Councillor John Fenty, portfolio holder for regeneration, said: “Small businesses are a vital part of our local economy providing local jobs and services which support our town centres.

“There are some fantastic small and independent businesses and I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to take the opportunity to come out and support them on Small Business Saturday and throughout the rest of the year.”

Business owners can visit to register their business on the website and download their marketing pack.

You can also use the hashtag #SmallBizSatUK within your own social media channels.
