North East Lincolnshire Council has launched a consultation to seek the views of local people on the accessibility and awareness of the authority’s local offer for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The consultation, which opened on Monday 19 June 2017, asks for people to give their views on how likely they are to use the local offer website, how accessible they find the information, and whether they feel any further information should be made available.
Councillor Ros James, portfolio holder for children and young people, said: “The local offer, available on the Council’s website, provides people with information on services to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
“It is vitally important that this information is accessible to those that need it, and has as much information on it as possible to help and support local people.
“By completing this consultation, local people will be directly informing decision making around the way we present information on the SEND local offer.”
The local offer consultation for parents/carers and young people service users opened on Monday 19 June 2017 and closes on Thursday 13 July 2017. The consultation is accessible on the Council’s website, at https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/consultation-and-surveys/have-your-say/.
