Council recognised for Armed Forces reserves support
North East Lincolnshire Council has been awarded a Silver Employee Recognition Award in recognition of the support it offers to the local Armed Forces community.
The Employee Recognition Scheme is awarded to employers recognised for their support in hiring Armed Forces reservists and veterans, and offering the Armed Forces community support.
The news follows the announcement that the Council has joined a regional partnership with four other local councils to strengthen their commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.
Councillor Ray Oxby, Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “We’re really proud of this achievement because it shows the work that the Council has been doing to recognise the huge contributions that serving and former military personnel have made to the safety and security of the nation.
“Former and serving members of the Armed Forces community, and their families, face tremendous pressures when adapting to civilian life. It is important that they know that there is support on offer here.
“The regional partnership which was announced last week is a long-term commitment by the Council to keep this momentum going.”
