COVID-19: Preparing for an outbreak
We are working with the Government and our partners in the NHS, Public Health, and local community groups and organisations to prepare for an outbreak of COVID-19 in our area.
In June 2020 the North East Lincolnshire COVID-19 Outbreak Control Plan (PDF) was approved by the Council’s Cabinet.
This plan identifies the biggest risks, as well as setting out how the Council and our partners will deal with a major outbreak of the virus.
Businesses have an important role to play in preventing an outbreak.
Employers should ensure that sufficient measures are in place in the workplace to minimise the risk to employees and customers.
This may include introducing things like:
- social distancing (limiting the number of people on your premises at any time)
- contact tracing (taking the contact details of visitors spending prolonged periods of time at your premises)
- encouraging customers to wear face masks
- installing screens between staff and customers
Each business is different and not all of these will be possible for each setting. If you would like some advice about introducing measures in your business premises, contact us on 01472 326299 option 3.
