COVID-19: Children and families


Health visitors

In light of the current pandemic and recent guidance from the Department of Health, Health Visiting will be reducing its service. Many of our visits will now move to telephone consultations, we will continue to contact all antenatal mothers and offer a visit to every baby between 2-3 weeks old.

School Nurses

In light of the current pandemic and recent guidance from the Department of Health, School Nursing will be reducing its service.

Please note: If your child is aged between 11 – 19 years they can still contact the school nursing team via text on 07507 331620

Family hubs (Children centres)

Currently, all children’s centres/family hubs are closed until further notice.

For advice and support, please contact the Families First Information Service on 01472 326292 and press option 1 or email us at fis@nelincs.gov.uk.

Baby Clinics

All Baby Clinics are suspended until further notice. If you would like to speak to a Health Visitor about any concerns you may have regarding your baby or child’s health or development, contact the service on (01472) 323660 or visit our Health visitors page.

Breastfeeding support

All breastfeeding support groups are suspended until further notice.

If you would like to speak to a Health Visitor or a member of the Infant Feeding Team regarding breastfeeding support, contact the service on 01472 323660 or visit NHS – Breastfeeding.
