Grimsby Crematorium car park is to be expanded, with works set to start next week.
The plans, which were approved by the Council’s planning committee, will see additional car parking capacity of 83.
The extra parking facilities for visitors to the site will help alleviate on street parking on Weelsby Avenue.
Councillor Stewart Swinburn, portfolio holder for environment, said: “This upgrade will reduce the congestion that we see day-in-day-out along the roads leading up to the crematorium.
“Council and ENGIE officers have already been on site for some time carrying out tests and surveying the ground so much of the preparation has already been done.
“Parking should be the last thing on someone’s mind when they are visiting the crematorium.”
The works are expected to start on Monday 4 November 2019, lasting approximately 8 weeks.
