Energy training on offer for residents and professionals

North East Lincolnshire Council, working in partnership with ENGIE, is hosting a number of energy awareness training sessions in the coming weeks for both local residents and professionals.

The training aims to give professionals advice on how to support households living in fuel poverty including understanding fuel bills, payment methods and highlighting the help available in the area.

Households can attend to get basic tips and advice on improving energy efficiency in their homes, training on paying energy bills and learn more about the schemes they could qualify for to improve their energy efficiency.

Training sessions will be carried out on the following dates:

  • Households training: energy bill advice, from 10am to 12pm on Thursday 31 October 2017. Advice available on saving money on energy bills, best energy tariffs, energy bill discounts and smart meters. People are invited to bring along their energy bills for advice and support on paying bills. Those who attend the training will also be entered into a prize draw for a shopping voucher or eco kettle. Venue to be confirmed.
  • Households training: energy bill advice, from 1pm to 3pm on Thursday 31 October 2017. Advice available on saving money on energy bills, best energy tariffs, energy bill discounts and smart meters. People are invited to bring along their energy bills for advice and support on paying bills. Those who attend the training will also be entered into a prize draw for a shopping voucher or eco kettle. Venue to be confirmed
  • Professionals training: basic energy awareness training, Wednesday 8 November 2017, times to be confirmed. National Energy Action will be offering a training session to give professionals the knowledge to support households living in fuel poverty, advising them on the associated health impacts and highlighting the support available for vulnerable people and those living in fuel poverty. Venue to be confirmed.
  • Professionals training: fuel debt advice, time, date and venue to be confirmed. National Energy Action will be offering a training session for professionals working with households who are in fuel debt. The training will give professionals knowledge on fuel debt and fuel poverty and the support available to households in resolving the fuel debt.
