Firstly, please check if the animal is dead or alive. If it is still alive please contact the RSPCA on 03001234999 who will be able to advise.
We only deal with dead animals or birds on council maintained land. Dead animals or birds on private land must be reported to the land owner and removed and disposed of in the correct and proper manner.
Any dead animals such as fox’s, squirrels, etc that are found in gardens, can be placed in a black bag and placed in the normal waste disposal bin. Birds may also be disposed of in your domestic bin. Please ensure you always use gloves when picking up dead animals or birds.
We also keep a register of all dead cats & dogs that are collected by our street cleansing operatives. If you are unfortunate enough to lose your pet, please contact us.
We do not dispose of pets. For further advice and guidance on how to dispose of your deceased pet, please contact your local veterinary practice.
