Europarc bus service 1, 2 and 20 to change from Monday 14 May

Following extensive consultation with businesses and employees based on Grimsby’s Europarc, two bus journey times will change from Monday 14 May.

The new times, which have been changed following feedback received during the consultations, have been set to ensure employees are able to arrive at work earlier and have extra time to catch the bus when leaving work.

The changes are as follows and affect the 1, 2 and 20 Stagecoach bus services:

  • The 05:15am departing Cleethorpes Pier (Sea Road) will be retimed to depart Cleethorpes Pier (Sea Road) at 05:10am.
  • The 18:05pm departing Europarc (Innovation Centre) will be retimed to depart Europarc (Innovation Centre) at 18:15pm.

The revised timetable will be available at www.stagecoachbus.com and bus stop timetables will be updated and printed timetables will be distributed to all Europarc businesses.

For more information a Bus It event will be held on Monday 14 May at the Riverhead Square (near Stand C) from 9am to 4pm.

Councillor David Watson, portfolio holder for environment, said: “Europarc is an important part of our business sector in North East Lincolnshire, and it’s vital that the employees have access to good, reliable public transport.

“These new times will give workers more time at each end of the journey – longer to prepare for a shift at the start of the day, and less rushing about at the end of the day.”

Chair of the Bus Quality Partnership, Councillor Jane Hyldon-King, said: “In North East Lincolnshire we’ve built a reputation for being a huge emerging name in green energy.

“Encouraging the public to use public transport is a big part of this and would mean fewer cars on the roads.

“If workers can rely on public transport to get them from home to work on time, they are less likely to use their car, so we welcome this change.”

The changes to the 1, 2 and 20 Stagecoach bus services will come into force from Monday 14 May 2018.
