Find out if you could benefit from home improvement grants
Savvy people in North East Lincolnshire could see their home improvements paid for or subsidised by government funding pots.
The funding is available to tackle a variety of home improvement projects with the aim of making homes warmer and more energy efficient, meaning that residents can also benefit from cheaper energy bills in the long run.
The Council, working in partnership with ENGIE, are currently offering residents the opportunity to apply for the money to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.
There is a variety of funding available for the following improvements:
- Boiler upgrades (gas, oil and LPG)
- Central heating systems
- A-rated electric storage heaters
- Loft insulation
- Cavity wall insulation
- External wall insulation
Councillor David Watson, portfolio holder for the environment, said: “The Council’s Home Energy team are there to support local people; especially those who struggle to keep their properties warm or receive high fuel bills, taking advantage of the Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme.
“Winter can be a particularly harsh time with many struggling to keep warm and afford their energy bills as they rise over winter.
“The Home Energy team provides free and impartial advice to residents on ways to reduce their fuel bills, keep warm over the winter months and also provide a number of schemes for both insulating and heating homes.
“I would urge residents struggling through the winter to get in touch with the team and see what they can offer.”
