Footpath slurry sealing works begin next week
Footpaths in several parts of North East Lincolnshire are due to be resurfaced during the next few weeks.
Paths in Healing, Stallingborough and Immingham will be resurfaced using a process known as slurry sealing.
The process involves laying a slurry – a mix of bitumen, emulsion and chippings – onto the footway in order to seal the surface and prolong its lifespan. The mix dries very quickly and pedestrians can usually walk over it within 20 to 30 minutes.
Work starts today, Tuesday 30 May 2017, and is expected to take six weeks to complete, subject to the weather.
The works are being undertaken by Kiely Brothers of Birmingham, who are using locally sourced site workers, and are being managed by the Council’s partner, ENGIE, who would like to apologise for any disruption that may be caused.
