Healthy Places training

Are you an individual or organisation with an immediate need? A short-term training course may be just what you need!

We offer a range of courses providing organisations and individuals with the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand and make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of themselves and others. With a particular focus on mental and emotional wellbeing, our face-to-face training aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma and discrimination, enable people to recognise the signs and symptoms of stress and other mental health issues and support individuals to care for their own emotional wellbeing alongside promoting access to appropriate support services.

Mental Health training booklet (PDF)

The Emotional Resilience workshop has been specifically designed to help and enable you to support your emotional resilience and wellbeing. It helps you to think differently about everyday pressures and challenges and provides you with some strategies to deal with them more effectively. The course is packed full of interactive activities, thought provoking, practical tools and techniques for you to take away and use.

A half day introduction to the mental health topics. Participants will receive a certificate for attending from Mental Health First Aid England.

MHFA course overview

Learning objectives

  • Gain an understanding of some of the common mental health issues affecting young people, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders and psychosis
  • Work more effectively with young people living with mental health issue
  • Identify stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues
  • Support young people with a mental health issue and relate to their experiences
  • Experience a taste of the contents of the Youth MHFA course.

Designed to equip managers and supervisors with the skills and knowledge to look after and support staff/colleagues in respect of emotional well-being. It covers mental health in the workplace, positive mental health, mental ill health and stress in the workplace.

  • Stress – What does it look like, how does it feel and what can you do about it?
  • Explain mental illness – Highlight the difference between the term mental health and mental ill health
  • Explain the links between mental health and the workplace
