Help with our website
We’ve been working hard to make your digital experience with us easier, simpler and quicker. Using the best open source frameworks, the latest web technologies and innovative in house design and development we’ve created a website fit for a modern Local Government. Read below to find out some of our sites features. If you have any suggestions to help us improve our site then fill in our Website feedback form.
The homepage contains all the navigation you need to get started with your task, carefully designed around customer habits and our most popular services and tasks;
- Popular Services, our most popular services as soon as you arrive
- Online services, A-Z of all online service areas including links to their most popular top tasks, head into the service area for more information and tasks
- Top Tasks, our most popular individual tasks and forms
Do it online
All online forms can be found within the Pay it, Apply for it and Report it sections; available on every page and every device. If you’re using a laptop, desktop or tablet you can find these links at the top of each page, on a mobile click the ‘Menu’ button in the top right.
Our self service portal securely checks who you are and allows you to use a single account to access a range of public services online. You will be able to apply for services, report issues and track the progress of your requests quicker and easier than ever before. Create an account now using My account.
Active Search allows you to ‘just start typing’ on any page within our website to start a search query. If you think of something you’d like to search for half way down a page, no need to look for a search box, just type.
Search query tracking enables us to see which queries are bringing back the most and least (or no) results, this information can be extremely useful when reviewing content and seeing what customers are really looking for.
Bin collection schedule
We appreciate that bin collection dates can be easily forgotten, especially when moving house, that’s why we’ve created a brand new bin collection schedule.
The new collection scheduler allows you to;
- find your bin collection schedule using just your Postcode
- view scheduled collections for the next 2 months
- view your own personalised collections schedule using a web address created just for you, a handy bookmark to have when wanting to check at a later date
We’ve completely rebuilt the way we publish, tag and share news articles, public notices and campaigns. Our new News Centre uses hashtags to group news articles. This means keeping up to date with local news is even easier, all you need to do is follow one single page. Visit the News centre.
Recycling site finder
Wouldn’t it be great if you, the customer, could just tick the items you wanted to recycle and a list of local recycling sites matching your criteria were shown?
Well, take a look at our new where to recycle feature. We’ve even provided you with directions from your current location to the site, try the ‘Get Directions’ link.
